The Idaman Residence is a freehold development which houses some 250 apartment units, with nine units per level spread across 34 stories of pure awesomeness. One of the better looking condos in KLCC (nay the Klang Valley) with a sleek outlook and a rather ultra-modern facade, it has all the trimmings of an ultra-luxurious condominium at a rather reasonable price (especially when compared with some rather overpriced developments here in KLCC).

Idaman Residence (also known to some as Idaman Kuala Lumpur) is a freehold development by Orchard Park, a subsidiary of TA Global Berhad (check out its snazzy website here). It’s just right across Menara TA, and one side of the condo directly faces the Petronas Twin Towers. - A massively impressive lobby with a high ceiling (needs to be seen!)
- In-house gym
- Swimming pool, with a dedicated children pool
- Nicely landscaped garden with cascading water features
- Laundry facilities
Standard stuff, but the facilities are rather well-maintained and still relatively new. The JMB seems to have done a pretty good job here indeed – the same cannot be said of many other KLCC condominiums, unfortunately.
According to the information found at another local property portal, the building is made of 90% glass, which we find to be rather laughable. 🙂
Idaman Residence Prices – Show Me The Moolah!
Launched at RM500 per sq ft in 2009, Idaman Residence condo units now regularly fetches around RM900 per sq ft (at the time of writing). Note that the other condominiums in the KLCC enclave regularly commands a price which breaks the four figure barrier (notably St Mary Residences as well as The Binjai On The Park), so this price could be viewed as fair (or even a bargain!).

The smallest unit in the development (about 870 sq ft) has an entry price of less than RM700,000 (at the time of writing), and therefore could well be the “cheapest” (I’m saying this with my tongue firmly in cheek) way to own a posh KLCC condo unit. Food for thought…
Where’s Idaman Residence?
Idaman Residence occupies one of the most strategic locations within the KLCC enclave – it’s just right off Jalan P Ramlee (specifically on Jalan Law Yew Swee). This means that this condo is near the trendy clubbing area (easily the busiest point in the KLCC area) as well as shopping malls (in the Golden Triangle) and the upmarket shopping centre in the form of the Suria KLCC (situated right beneath the iconic Petronas Twin Towers). To many prospective buyers and renters, Idaman Residence’s prime spot within the KLCC area is a major advantage.
This also means that Idaman Residence’s surrounding area is rather densely populated. If you are into wide open spaces then this condo might not be for you. And as it is located just off the clubbing hub that is Jalan P Ramlee, this could be an advantage or a disadvantage depending whether you are the clubbing kind or not.
Many KLCC condominiums boast of “superior walkability” which means that many important amenities are accessible by foot. The GoodPlace Walkability Score (GWS) is a measure of how walkable a condominium is from nearby amenities, and is on a scale from 0 (bad) to 100 (good). Yay Or Nay?
We like the wide range of choices in terms of sizes that are available – from the “bachelor pad” sizes (starting from 877 sq ft) up to three-level penthouses (up to 3,800 sq ft) – and this means that there’s something for everyone. This also means that units here are “rental market friendly” compared to the KLCC condominiums which are bigger in size (Avare, Ampersand, Pearl, etc).
Idaman remains popular with investors and buyers who are dipping their toes into the KLCC market, and indeed you’ll be hard pressed to secure a property in the enclave with less than RM1,000,000 in hand. We are bullish about KLCC’s prospects in the long run (can’t you tell already?), and Idaman remains one of the best choices (in our humble opinion, of course) to secure one’s very first unit in this area.
